新冠肺炎Omicron變種病毒殺入香港，除了戴口罩、勤洗手等防疫措施外，香港四個工程學會聯合提倡五大防疫措施，更製作海報，呼籲市民提高警覺，共同抗疫。
由香港工程師學會屋宇裝備分部、英國屋宇裝備工程師學會（香港分會）、屋宇設備運行及維修行政人員學會及英國特許水務工程師學會（香港分會）共同發出的新聞稿中，提倡五大家居防疫措施，當中包括引入清潔的空氣到室內，天井的氣窗不要開啟；廁所及廚房保持通風，亦可使用抽氣扇抽走室內空氣，加強空氣流通；也要檢查坐廁是否裝有排氣管，不可隨意移除；住戶同時要檢查坐廁有否破損或渠管滲漏，並盡快安排維修，以免病毒經渠管進入室內；最後污水管需安裝附有反虹吸功能的U型聚水器，每周灌注半公升水，以水封堵塞病毒進入。

 

四工程學會已將有關建議製作成中文海報，並正研究將有關內容翻譯成菲律賓語、印尼語、尼泊爾語等不同語言，希望有助全民抗疫。
